So Friday evening we stayed in because Duck wanted to go to this huge sale up in Wembley. Alarm was set for 2, Ducks friend came in at 5 from his night out asking why we hadn't left yet, alarms suck, so we literally got dressed and left. 10 minutes in to the journey I barfed everywhere lovely. (I still am to this day stupidly ill, and the wonderful doctors still can't determine what it is) Fell asleep woke up there. It was sooo fucking cold I only had tights and boots on my little feet and its safe to say they nearly dropped off. I'm so glad we didnt leave at 2 because though we got there at 7 instead of 4 we managed to get all the battle dress and service stuff that Duck wanted. We also got some stuff that I loved, though I hadn't orginally gone to get anything for myself. I'm stupidly annoyed with the fact one of the workers told us there were no red coats because after a billion people came through the door I saw loads of people with them, so I literally finally found it after asking if they were in that room and there was hardly any left. GUTTED. Anyway I was even more sick. We had everything left £205 lighter, well Duck did. Came home was more sick. WILL I EVER STOP BEING SICK?

I wasn't really looking forward to last night, The Specials... at the Brighton Center & New Moon.
So The Specials themselves played amazingly it's just I don't get why time after time all these bands play empty conference halls like The Brighton Center. Comparing to a Friday night at Brixton, well nothing could compare to that. I don't know it just wasn't shit on it basically. I think the night was more entertaining trying to find Louis. Okay so blah blah blah afterward Duck & I met Sunny D, had a super rushed drink and went to the cinema to watch the 12 o'clock screenings of twilight we went our separate ways as I met my friends. Okay so the film starts and R-Patz comes on and all these girls are screaming, the one thing I hate is silly girls screaming and there were like hundreds of them. I could understand if he was right there maybe, but he wasn't, it was on a screen. Not real guys OKAY?! I began to think it was hilarious so when the title screened I screamed and then twihard fan actually told me to and i quote 'shut the fuck up'. To which I obviously told her to grow up, it is just a movie. But I think everyone seems to forget that. It IS just a film. Jacob isn't really some nasty wolf trying to take Bella away from her beloved dark & mysterious vampire boyfriend. It is a script, they are actors, they get paid to do it. It was actually like a pantomime in there, I started playing on my phone trying to see if Duck was finding it as painful as I was. And somebody starts shaking me telling me to get off my phone. God I don't even know, I just don't seem to care how people can care for a movie that much. So yes if it was a tarintino or any other classic respectable movie but its not, its about guys who clearly don't own many tops and about a girl who is obsessed. It's just cringe. These girls all seem to think Edward/R-Patz is going to appear out of nowhere and fall in love with you, to be honest he wouldn't look twice at anyone. I don't get how people actually kid themselves into thinking he's 'the one'. Get a life, go outside, do normal things, get a real life boyfriend, don't have a love affair with your TV. Have REAL LIFE sex, don't be some silly little virgin screaming at a screen.

If your thinking of seeing this movie, don't, wait for the dvd. I think I will prefer it then. Twilight was actually good but these has been so over done, their eyes, the muscles, Roberts paleness. They even made Jasper ugly.
Bella's dad is the most attractive thing in it.

Seaweed & I went and caught VV BROWN's show last night. We didn't really know what to expect & both admitted we were more going to see what she wore as she has shit hot fashion sense as apposed to her music. Also we thought we were gunna be super late & miss her but luckily didn't as we caught the end of the support band which were surprisingly good, too bad I didn't catch the name. VV came on & her entrance was incredible she sported a huge venetian mask (which I'm now going to stock up on as they will be my key accessory when getting tipsy on the town, also hides my identity when I'm barfing down skag allys.) Her jumpsuit was gorgeous, it got me thinking about all my gorgeous ones that I never ever wear out, which I should because they deserve to be shown off but I get so self conscious of them as they aren't the most flattering of things. Anyway yeah this girl is incredibly understated, she played amazingly & I remembered all the reasons I love her. If she plays near you be sure to check her out.

So everyone knows McQueen is a complete pro when it gets down to fashion his work is always amazing but never completely on my radar (EXCEPT for the amazing knuckle duster clutch that I want SO bad) anyway, when it came down to his 2010 show my breath has been taken away by nothing less than these absolute heartbreakers. Now theres this whole debate on yes, they are shocking and outrageous, everything you would expect but could you actually wear them? and would you want to wear them? I don't get why people write like this, why are you writing for the fashion industry and asking these questions. Get a new job. Who wouldn't wear these, if I had the pennies I'd wear these around the house, swimming, to the gym, to bed, just every opportunity I got. Who cares if its not wearable, thats the whole point you make it wearable. Seriously I wonder how some of these people actually have jobs. Anyway, Okay, Rant Over. I want the pair above so bad I seriously would even wear them to bed. GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. Then last night, when I literally thought I couldn't get enough of the shoes, I was introduced to the, the one and only, bag. On Saturday I went to Leicester to check out the contour course, I was incredibly wowed but I can't see myself letting go of living in the big smoke to live in Leicester. I'm crushing on VV BROWN hard right now, well I have been for a long time I've only just got round to blogging it. I'm beyond envious of every item of clothing she wears & I have a new found love for her since I saw her video for 'Game Over' today which features VV in lots & lots of gorgeous garments made from hair. And those who know me know how hot 'hair' garments are getting me right now. mmmm. She is my style icon of 2009. I wish I had her wardrobe all those sequins & all that hair. Oh your getting me hot gurrl. I cannot wait to see her at the concorde, Brighton in November, what to wear? what to wear? LOST IN TRANSLATION.

Paris was everything I hoped for & more (minus the fact I couldn't/didn't go to the right parts to find any vintage which dissapointed me but there's always next time & there will be a next time. I thought I'd chuck a few snaps on here etc etc;

DAY ONE

Wang booties, Ray Ban Shades

So the first day we go out to the science museum (I needed some research for college & since we had time to waste thought I'd take up the perfect opportunity) anyway they didn't have anything on robots so we left & headed for another museum for the Curie museum of medicine. Hmm, it was OKAY but literally it was just a room with a few cabinets spread here & there so not really what I was aiming for. So off it was to our last stop of the day (everything was so so far away & Duck & I just kept getting terribly lost!) Maison Europeenne de la Photographie ws our last stop which I have to say I was pretty impressed with the works of Ara Guler & Ferdinando Scianna. We ended the day with very sore feet back at the beautiful & very impressive Hotel De Champs Elysee. My impressions weren't really that great of Paris from the first day I had been told everyone dressed their best at all times which I hadn't to tell the truth seen much of but then again we hadn't particularly gone to the right places for it.

DAY TWO

Dress by me, YSL shades

I started the day by using the bed as a trampoline a complaint was sure to be made by other guests but it never happened! First of all we went to Les Arts Decoratifs which was SOOO big & beautiful and they had a ghost orchestra which I tried to snap but couldn't get it which sucks as it was amazing. We went to the Louvre afterward seeing as it was just outside the door where I saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time, god it is so pretty! Anyway Saturday was our shopping day unfortunatly I didn't really see anything that I fell in love with (minus the chanel vintage shops & just about everything in L'Eclaireur hmm, so many treasures behind that beautiful mysterious door) okay well let's rephrase that better, I didn't find anything that I fell in love with in my price range. It was fun window shopping though. In the evening we went & took a trip up the Eiffel Tower but didn't go right to the top because the queue was long & my feet were supporting skyscraper heels ouch!

DAY THREE : BIRTHDAY GIRL

Duck woke me up with a bed covered with balloons and serenaded me with beautiful treasures, I got my beloved Chanel half tints & my JCDC panda top!! & my long awaited Luella dress along
with many other beauties. I wanted to make the most of the day so we got up dead early, got ready which took hours for some reason (probably due to the game of hide & seek/cat&mouse) but we got out that door after a while.

First stop Barbie Museum. Minus all the other freaky horrid dolls the barbie exhibit was rather lovely though I didn't find big enough. I took some very sneaky snaps as I need them for my research for this term at college. We thought since we had so much time that we would head to the Picasso Museum as well due to it only being around the corner & all. We kinda got sidetracked by all the amazing shops...

I decided from our detour that I have fallen in love with 'American Retro' there was this insanely gorgeous leather dress that I so wanted to purchase with all my pennies & a gorgeous orange suede & leather skirt. Why is everything in Paris so expensive?!?!?! We got some beautiful cupcakes & pink champagne for our picnic by the Eiffel Tower. But before we went to the Sacre-Coeur Basilique which had breath taking sights over Paris shame the atmosphere wasn't quite so breath taking, there were so many tourists which obviously draws in all the street sellers which are just beyond annoying. By the time we got to the Eiffel Tower my cakes were squished but still tasted delicious, once again we got hassled by street people who actually tried to take my birthday lunch NOT impressed. It was lovely never the less.

We headed back to the hotel after a while for a cat nap but shortly woke up for pink champagne, the last of our cupcakes & to get ready for the evening<3.
We headed out for dinner & oh my Duck & I didn't half get some looks walking down the Champs Elysee (which we had just discovered was right outside our door!) So yeah after a seriously uncomfortable walk through stares we finally found our restaurant and had the most scrummy meal of my life, I have a new found love for asparagus. We literally had 5 minutes to get to the Moulin Rouge before the show started.. After the most intense taxi ride we got there literally as it was starting. At least we did not look out of place there, almost everyone had a Chanel on their arm & I was insanely jealous. The Moulin Rouge was simply amazing though my mouth was left wide open all night, their was a woman swimming with snakes on stage and woman dancing on mens arms, their were frills and the cancan, liftings of skirts & women left topless. I want to go again, I'll have to leave it a while though.

Au Revior Paris. Our last day we decided to walk down the road & actually see the Champs Elysee (I cannot believe we didn't even know it was down the road TOURIST!) To complete our tourist knowledge we got a dead touristy couples photo in front of the Champs Elysee. Ha.

Paris has won my heart & I cannot wait till we meet again. Hmm I want to go around Christmas / New Year time it would be so so beautiful in the snow. If it snowed. Which it won't. Here is a dreamy picture I took on my sad plane ride home.

So I used to love 'thigh high boots' years back but probably for all the wrong reasons. (I actually own a pair but I think they've gone past 'doing' anything to make them pretty.) So yeah, I was flicking through the pages of Grazia I notice that they had come back in again but then I can't stop staring at these two pairs of boots, one pair are thigh high & the others not so though still equally as lovely. They featured from the Louis Vuitton A/W 09 collection, of which I am just head over heels with. I so wanna get my hands on a pair of their ears, their making me gaga. Anyway with out further adu get a load of these heartbreakers..

Hmmmm I'm SO excited. WHY? Well, because tommorow at four in the a.m I will be leaving to fly for Paris. Duck & I are booked into the most beautiful boutique hotel just of the Champs Elysees, I can't wait to see the city lit up at night & I just came across a barbie exhibition which is on, which is perfect for my new college project. So at the weekend my mama & I went to the big city to visit my grandmama and her husband. I always love going up there because they have the best views over London, I tried to capture this (above) but its not hugely working as everything is actually a hell of a lot closer & brighter & more beautiful, but it was taken on my phone so you'll have to ignore the awkwardness of the photo. I do apologize on it's behalf anyway. On Saturday mama & I went out to do a round of exhibitions; I wanted to visit The Evolution of Underwear - Fashion & Textile Museum / Jeff Koons Popeye Series - Serpentine / Future Fashion Now - V&A.

First off we had a stupidly confusing walk to get to FTM (the wind had blown the sign around causing us to walk around the block in circles for what seemed like forever making my poor little head get dizzy). After forever of being dizzy we used our common sense for the first time that day & asked a local where it was, she pointed us through this big creepy tunnel, so clearly we were over joyed to have to walk down it especially since this dead scary homeless guy was slowly traipsing behind us. Half way through there was the door which looked actually looked alot better in person and I wanted my photo by it to show off my hair which looked ace that day. I literally threw it up out of my face that morning so my hair wasn't dangling into the marmite jar (ughhhhh) & when I went to powder my nose it had sort of formed itself into this bow. Anyway I loved it. You can't even see it in the picture which sucks & that big neon yellow danger sign takes it out of the picture too. Oh well it looked ace at the time. So yeah anyway after messing about at this creepy bridge for 5 minutes we eventually got there. I was greeted by the most beautiful sight, it was a selection of four La Perla underwear sets encased in glass. One of which I had briefly seen at Bicester, I wish I had bought it now! (maybe another trip when I have more pennies)

The second room which featured one of my favorite pieces was actually from a graduate & they were competing in the Triumph Inspiration Awards.
Its by Midori Matsuo & I'm just head over heels in love with knickers from the underwear set;

The second room was amazing to their were corsets suspended in mid air from the ceiling & bras & panties in pictures frames hanging from the walls (where I noticed my Agent Provocateur cherry buy from earlier in one - pretty chuffed that I made the purchase now). There were a whole string of manikins places together all wear amazing pieces from Pleasure State Couture to The Lake & Stars. Oh I just loved every piece & I wish they featured in my sad state of an underwear collection. Another few pairs of panties that caught my eye were by Carol Malony who had various other amazing pieces throughout the exhibition but these two were insanely gorgeous especially the lace insert hand pair, they were so fierce;

There were also another set of designers that were coming up throughout the exhibition which I now currently have the hugest crush on Vin & Omi who literally have become saviours to my underwear collections. They had a dress made entierely out of knickers & a corset which was literally to die for & I'd probably die before I could afford it but wow it was beautiful made from 15 000 micro crystals on latex mmm. My favourite would have to be the batsuit oh those shoulders DAMN! & those knickers DOUBLE DAMN, maybe one day if I save all my pennies I'll be able to buy it but till then I'll just keep staring at the picture & dreaming.

There were so many more amazing things that I'll blog at another time. I could have literally stayed there all day envying over all the beauties it held, I'm so upset that the exhibition finishes when I'm away, but if you have the chance go and visit it!

The Serpentine exhibition - Jeff Koons Pop Eye Series, hmm well I still cannot make my mind up as to whether I enjoyed it or it was, well I just don't think I 'get' his perspective on art. It was free so I can't really complain.The book shop in the serpentine was superb however & I saw a Francessca Woodman - Retrospective book I'd been wanting for ages heres some beautiful snaps from her.

Anyway I really gotta be getting on with some work & nearer the door to hear mr postman arrive with my ALEXANDER WANG BOOTIES ahhhh!!!

For college we were set a summer project I was so lucky as to pull Preen out of the magicians hat & chose the A/W 08 collection which is partly based on Kurt Cobain & his Seattle 'grunge look' (the other half is based on Kim Basinger's character in 9 1/2 weeks). Anyway in looking at Kurt I found links to Alice Dellel, a face I am familiar with and had a slight crush on since I saw her from a far looking mesmerizing at Reading Festival 08. Anyway I thought it was a great opportunity to stick her pretty face all over my sketchbook as she has huge links to Kurt (he is her fashion inspiration, I mean you only have to look at that huge leather & sheepskin coat she wears so well, of which was one of his most infamous wears.) When searching up images of her pretty face to stick in my sketchbook I found the most amazing shoot for the transformer issue of Dazed & Confused by Matt Irwin, the shoot is called 'So Young So Cool'. The models featured are Pixie Geldof, Luke Worrall, Cole Mohr, Daisy Lowe & Alice Dellel, who rocks the most amazing Fleet Ilya bullet bra that puts Madonna's classic 80's job to shame. I think I might just have to make a purchase, I'm head over heels in love with it.

OXFORD COMMA.

Yesterday Duck & I drove up to Oxford we were going to the Bicester Outlet Village to see if we could snap up any bargain goodies. After all I needed some retail therapy from my rubbish Reading weekend but that's another post all together. (Just a word of warning if you want to travel up there I would advise leaving early unless you want to queue for parking hours upon end.) Anyway after some big hench sweaty man shouting his motor mouth off at anyone who got a space in his big ugly 4x4 & many unappreciated horn blasts we did eventually get a space. I was dead excited, after all this was the outlet home to Luella, Vivienne Westwood, DVF, Alexander McQueen, Mulberry & Agent Provocateur (to name a few). I had high expectation, perhaps to high, as what greeted us was far from anything I had pictured. This little village was over run by the pitter patter of rich shoppers, the rich with no taste, the clothes featured in store were the clothes from seasons nobody wanted to hear about, let alone remember. I was quite annoyed with myself for letting Duck drive 2 hours in heat when we could of had a much needed lie in & a day down the beach. The prices weren't really outstandingly cheap either to name one Fred Perry (Duck's to-die-for brand) was pretty much the same in store prices you'd get in London stores (excluding Brighton because everyone knows how ridiculously overpriced it is in there.) However though my harsh opinion of the place I was hugely impressed with Luella & Agent Provocateur & I would definitely drive all the way back just to see if I could find any more beauties in the two stores. I bought a pair of S/S08 Trousers for just £20 in Luella & a beautiful cherry underwear set in Agent Provocateur.

So a little while ago Seaweed & I had a fun day just messing about taking lots of silly snaps of me dressed up (or a little bit too undressed) as one of my all time favorite heroes Mickey Mouse.
The pictures came out alot better than we had expected when planning the shoot, our first intention was to have crisp clean shots against a white wall but it turned into a dark fuzzy dim lighted setting to give it a more dark feel. Also originally it was just going to be my Mickey Mouse hands covering up my titties but turned into the hands covering up my dignity which turned innocent child's play Disney into a soft pornography, which gave it the 'edge' we were looking for.
Anyway here are a handful of my favorite snaps; you can see Seaweeds favorite at his flickr but I think they are a little bit too naked for my liking. I dunno, you decide, I'm not a complete hussy honest.

Yesterday duck & I went to Portobello to take a sneaky peak at Mick Jone's Rock & Roll Public Library. It was easily confused for a junk sale at first but when it came down to it each piece featured throughout the exhibition had been carefully picked out from Jone's personal collection to tell a story. What made it stand out for me, as it would any clash fan was seeing all the memorabilia; those iconic outfits, the battered posters, the backstage passes, the equipment cases there was one thing in particular though that grabbed my attention this beautifully beaten flag with 'The Clash' & one of their most iconic photos printed upon it. I fell in love with this flag & wanted it for keeps but obviously couldn't. Anyway if you find yourself up in Portobello its worth a little peak; 2 Acklam Road but hurry since its only on till the 25th of August!

I also took Duck to see the Rankin exhibition as I promised myself another visit also I wanted to get the photobooth snaps. We payed to get in & then I wanted to turn my paper into gold pieces which is when I found out the photobooth had broken & run out of paper that day, dayuuum that sucked, I'm going to have to go up again, oh well third time lucky hey?! One good thing out of that day we found out Rankin does shoot couple photos so Ducky & I might just have to get one but the problem being were both very camera conscious so maybe not. I can't decide, I guess we could get masks?! Maybe. Oh actually two good things, I got to stare at the beautiful shoot with
Courtney Love again but I'll post that another time because it's worth its own post. Through the disappointment Duck & I managed to sneak in a bit of fun in
the U.V room;

Lux lost it over Kevin Haynes, the garbageman. She'd wake up at 5 in the morning and lay about on the front porch like it wasn't completely obvious! She wrote his name in marker in all her bras and underwear and mum found them and bleached out all the Kevins. Lux has been crying on her bed all day.

When pulling out my dvd collection for my friend & I's movie night tonight I came across 'The Virgin Suicides'. Completely forgetting my love with it, I am total adoration with it once again. I was leant the book on my recent holiday but I am a terrible reader and I have a huge secret crush on Kristen Dunst so that makes the film a huge bonus. Anyway if you haven't been so lucky as to see it make sure you do before you die, you won't regret it as its such a beautiful & mesmerizing film.

So on Monday I was coming to a close on a very enduring catch up call with a friend when she was racking her brains with what she had to tell me, after a short while she remembered. A friend of hers who Volunteers at Oxfam, Western Road noticed the Vivienne Westwood Tits tshirt in store. I was seriously excited with the possibility I could own this fine piece of art that I announced I was to pick her up in 5 minutes and she simply had to show me where it was, though she had as much clue as me. So we sped into Brighton & I rumaged but had no luck, so I questioned a man behind a desk who hadn't a clue, so I really felt stupid that I had rushed into brighton with no time to spare before work to get a top that surely would be snapped up at first glance especially in a place like Oxfam where you can always get lovelies for next to no pennies. Anyway one of the other volunteers had overheard our conversation and she said it was in the back but they were planning to frame it to which I pleaded. Which worked & she said £20 please, I was so ecstatic that me being stupid me, blurted out 'Thats so cheap people pay hundreads for these'. I have to admit it wasn't my cleverist of moments & when she turned around saying that since I told her that would I mind paying £3o. Of course I was annoyed with myself but I couldn't say "No" as it all goes to a good cause, I guess in future I'll just have to learn to haggle better or better yet keep my lips tightly shut and keep telling myself in my head what a very lucky girl I am.

So that being on Monday and today being Wednesday I have done other things than stare aimlessly at the tv screen and lift my right hand on a rare occasion where my tummy suggests it needs more food to lift coco pops to my mouth. Anyway this thing being besides popping into town for disposable cameras and a severly unimpressed trip to Brighton Museum's fashion exhibition. Was to do a long awaited shoot with my friend Seaweed;

So even though this all happened last week I'm lazy and I thought the day/exhibition really deserves to be credited;

Last Wednesday Sam, Emily & I hoped on a train to London so Sam could do a shoot with Affrick
& we could head down to brick lane later on in the day to see the much anticipated Rankin exhibition. We met Funmi at Victoria and caught the train to Woolwich Dockyard, even though we were SO late and knew there was little chance he would be there. We got there ... half an hour late, we waited ... just incase, we got hungry, we left. So we got to Brick Lane eventually and we were all in the worst moods due to hunger & heat & train fines but we went an ate £1 chicken and chips which was genius except for Sam & I sweating out over humidity and Chilli sauce. (Eughhhhhhhhh) Then FINALLY we went into the Old Truman Brewery (after being complete tourists and walking past it about 4 times in a state of confusion) payed our £7 concession got a free ice cold beer (cheers) and stared for hours at Rankin's stunning work. I have to do a summer blog for college & document what exhibitions I've been to, so I was trying to list a few of my favorite pictures to give as examples of his work on my other blog but the list just grew and grew so it was just about impossible to short list it. However one of my favorite features in the exhibition had to be the old school photo booth, the outcomes were just darling; I'm taking my boyfriend back so we can get the completely cliché couples photos. Here's a few snaps the photo booth dazzled us by that day;

I completely fell head of heels with Courtney Love's section in the exhibition once my boyfriend & I have spent all our pennies getting that perfect clichéd photo I'm going to stare at her all day.
Sam & Funmi are going to get there photos taken by Rankin to be part of Rankin Live I desperately wanted to but all my pennies are saved for my birthday trip to Paris. I'm so jealous there going to look ace. Ha I love that word. Anyway after we left we popped into Behave which whenever I have gone in to my local one its always been filled with jeans, which I love but have to many of so I don't need to spend anymore pennies on although I've promised my self a pair of Tsubi's Lean Bean's before the years out. But I was delighted to see they had a sale, they had a sale which had reduced my Karen Walker dress down to £55 BARGAIN so I had to make the purchase. We had lots of fun in the changing room trying on lots of different JC/DC (Jean-Charles De Castelbajac) of which I now have a secret crush on the clothes.

Anyway I would kill for that panda top, good job I found it in Brighton its now scribbled down on my birthday wishlist. xo
